The process of making “Norway – the official site”

Our creative work with “Norway – the official site” originated from a consequent visual idea of making a clear-purposed design that communicates Norway’s redefined image. The design will be a driving force in the future process of building a trustworthy brand. We have strived to be a creative, inspiring and sincere partner in the process of making Norway a more visible international entity with a visually consistent profile.

To help define a recognizable image we have designed a typeface called “Aeroportal” – especially developed for this project. It is inspired by european modernism and contemporary Scandinavian design. It clearly expresses friendliness, simplicity and credibility, and brings up images of waves, motion, travel etc.

Inspired by nature, we have chosen colours representing the richness of the changing norwegian nature. The colour scheme is suitable for application in modern urban culture as well as in traditional and historical contexts.

Our basic idea concerning photography is to promote Norwegian photographers using Norwegian people and environment as objects. For the portal design we have solely chosen pictures which communicates a reliable image of today’s Norwegian society.
