Christine Hansen

Christine Hansen is one of seven photographers whose work is presented on the portal Norway - the official site. The photographs have been selected by Preus Museum, Norway's national photography museum. Fragments of a total of 40 photographs are shown in the top field of the portal. If you click on these pictures you will get up information on the photographer and his or her photographs that are shown elsewhere on the portal. The project gives Norwegian photographers an opportunity to show their work to a wide audience all over the world.

Biography:
Christine Hansen was born in Bergen and grew up in Florø. She has taken part in a number of joint exhibitions, and has had two solo exhibitions since completing her photography studies at the Bergen National Academy of the Arts, in 2000. The work Norwegian Madhouse (2000), which is made up of 19 photographs of psychiatric institutions in southern Norway, and several photographs from the series The Kingdom of Heaven (2003) have been purchased by the Arts Council Norway. In 2001, she received the Vestland Exhibition prize for her work. She has been awarded several grants and has worked and studied in New York, Leipzig and Berlin. She is currently living and working in Bergen.
